Question: What’s the best portrait lens option for Nikon D3400, a F1.8 50 mm or a F1.4 50 mm?

Answer:

The camera doesn’t matter.

There’s no inherently “best” lens. There is only a “best” lens when considering what’s best for what we do when it comes to our work as photographers.

The lenses are the same in focal length but the 1.4 allows for more exposure.

Get whatever one you could afford.
