A Buyers Guide On Purchasing Fine Art Photography As Wall Decor
Buy Fine Art Photography As Wall Decor – An article about buying photography to decorate your walls.
- fine art | ˌfīn ˈärt | noun1 (also fine arts) creative art, especially visual art whose products are to be appreciated primarily or solely for their imaginative, aesthetic, or intellectual content: the convergence of popular culture and fine art. 2 an activity requiring great skill or accomplishment: he’ll have to learn the fine art of persuasion. PHRASES have (or get) something down to a fine art achieve a high level of skill, facility, or accomplishment in some activity through experience: Mike had gotten the breakfast routine down to a fine art.
- decorative arts | ˈdɛk(ə)rədɪv | plural noun the arts concerned with the production of high-quality objects that are both useful and beautiful.
To put it simply, according to the dictionary; fine art is about aesthetics while decorative art is about function AND aesthetics.
While the dictionary definition is useful, there’s another way to think about fine art and decorative art. Or more to the point of this article, how to think about fine art photography as wall decor. To be specific, the way to think about it is in terms of production quality. As an example, think paper plates and plastic utensils vs. a good set of tableware. Both serve the same function but in terms of production quality, they are far from the same. The paper plates and plastic utensils are short-term products. On the other hand, the fine tableware, if taken care of, will last a lifetime. And, if the tableware is good enough, maybe we’ll pass it along when we no longer need it.
Rather than get into a discussion of fine art in terms of personal views and just to keep things clear, let’s talk about fine art photography in terms of the production quality. When considering production quality, a fine art photograph is printed in a manner that keeps permanence in mind.
First, of course, you wanna purchase a picture that you enjoy seeing. Second, the picture should be printed with permanence in mind so it can continue to be seen.
Sam D’Amico is me, the one that’s responsible for this article. I’m a photographer and photography teacher-I do both as my profession. If ya wanna learn more about me, please use the “About Sam” area of the site navigation menu that you’ll find at the side and/or bottom of each page on this website.
The number one reason is that you like one of my pictures and that you think it’d look great hanging in your home or office. In addition, I’m a stickler when it comes to the production quality of the prints that are representing my work. And last, but not least, you’ll be helping me survive because all I do is this; I make photographs and I teach photography, both professionally.
Visit the online platforms where I sell pictures to hang on your wall. I sell my work in limited places to ensure quality control. While there are many art selling platforms, most leave the artist out of the loop in terms of quality control. As a result, you won’t find my work available for sale in the most popular places. I’ve made sure that when ya order a print from me, the quality is “fine art” quality.
I’ve decided to up my game when it comes to the experience of buyin’ my prints. What I mean is that I want the person lookin’ to buy a print to have the same experience on my site that they’d have on some of the more popular websites that sell art.
This platform provides an exceptional experience for the visitor. Even more, I think that the user experience is as good as, or better than, any of the other online art purchasing places. Among other features, there’s a standard wall preview feature AND a wall preview feature where you can use the camera on your phone, or another device with a camera (tablet, laptop, etc.), to preview the work as it will appear on YOUR WALL.
The lab I’ve chosen for this platform is excellent. Click here to read all about ’em.
