About the DC Digital Photography Classes

First, an introduction.

My name is Sam D’Amico, and I’ve been a professional photographer, mostly in photojournalism, since the mid-80s.

And I’ve been teaching photography professionally since 1999.

My photography has been awarded in juried shows.

And my teaching has been recognized by being voted the Best Art Class by the readers of the Washington City Paper.

I enjoy teaching and watching the participants in my classes go from being frustrated photographers to photographers who know how to use their cameras thoughtfully and intentionally. Seeing them create pictures they are happy with is a rewarding aspect of my work.

Like most of us when we started, I suppose you’ve got a digital camera and are frustrated and disappointed with how your pictures come out, and you’ve been looking to take a DC digital photography class. In that case, I can help you with one of my group classes or private lessons.

Before you know it, you’ll learn how to work your camera and be a better photographer.

Why Take a DC Digital Photography Class?

If you’ve been wondering why you should take a class, the first answer that popped into my head is that you’ll be a better photographer.

Specifically, you’ll be a better photographer because you’ll learn to work your camera thoughtfully during the DC digital photography class. And you’ll also learn about photographic composition and develop a useful understanding of light and lighting.

Additionally,  during a DC digital photography class, you’ll learn to see what you photograph in a way that will allow you to create the best photographs you can.

But beyond  the class will help you be a better photographer and make thoughtful pictures; Washington, DC, has a  depth and variety of subject matter that will keep your eye involved and your creativity flowing.

What Equipment and Experience Do I Need To Take a  Photography Class?

In short, any camera will do for a DC digital photography class, even the camera on your phone. And if you want to use a film camera, you can use that too.

The only experience you’ll need is that you’ve used your camera and know you want to learn to work your camera effectively because you want to make better pictures and be a better photographer.

Which Photography Class Should I Take?

Obviously, the most helpful answer would be the one you feel will help you the most.

However, a good rule of thumb is to pick a class that allows you to use the camera you have. And, of course, what you’d like to learn

But if you need some help figuring out what the best dc digital photography class is for you, get in touch with me by phone or email.

Also, I’ve got a couple of forms to fill out if you have a few minutes. The forms will help us determine what photography class would suit you best. One is a quiz to see where you are regarding your current understanding of basic photography. And the other form helps us plan the best strategy for improving your photography skills and understanding.
