Get In Crash Position

Get In Crash Position

Before It’s Too Late…

It’s going to happen. It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when. Your computer, and any other hard drive or storage media that you use is going to fail. Yup, it’s going to happen.

If your a photographer, your gonna wanna back up your photographs. On top of that, if you’re a professional photographer your gonna wanna back up any data that’s related to your business.

Thanks to a digital work-flow course that I took with a smart teacher, when my computer crashed my data was in crash position. In fact, after the class that emphasized data loss and the importance of backing up your data I would wake up in the middle of the night with the thought of my hard drives crashing.

Get In Crash Position

What do I mean by “crash position”? I mean that my data was backed up. Not only was it backed up, thanks to the teacher who I mentioned previously, my back-up was backed up.

Although it was a pain in the butt to reinstall the operating system and the software , I had my data.

Pictures, accounting information and just about everything else that was crucial to operating my business was still available because I had my data backed up.

Do yourself a favor and get in crash position before the crash happens.

Although I  still wake up in the middle of  the night when I’m stressed, it’s usually not due to worrying about losing my data.

Thank you Salam. (Salam is the smart teacher).

Here’s what I use: Drobo, PhotoShelter

P.S. Beyond backing up my data PhotoShelter is an important  part of my business strategy.
