What We’ve Got and What We Want

They usually ain’t the same.

What we usually want is to make photographs like the ones we’ve seen in the past or the ones we imagine that we’ll make in the future.

That future photograph can be the one we imagine we’ll create based on something we’re seeing now.

We don’t know what the future holds.

We can only tend to what needs to be done now.

What needs to be done now is evaluating the light we’re working with to see if we can create the photograph that we imagine.

Sometimes, after we evaluate the light we’re working with, we discover that we can’t create the picture that we imagine.

Don’t let the can’t stop you from the can.

Do whatever you could do now to create the best possible photograph that you can.
