Assuming our eyes are ok, we’ve been seeing since we opened our eyes as babies.
Our eyes take in everything in our field of view.
Once in a while we see something that gets our attention and we get the impulse to take out our camera and make a photograph. That’s where the thinking begins.
Depending on our study and practice we think about how to compose the photograph.
Rules of composition are limiting. Thinking about what we’re doing with our camera (camera operation) and paying attention to what we’re doing as a photographer (our intent of composition) will allow us to create unique photographs with any camera that we have.
