Use The Flash On Your Camera To Make Better Pictures

I’d bet that, like most cameras, your camera has a pop-up flash.

Unfortunately, most photographers don’t like using flash.

One of the things you can do with your flash is reduce contrast. If you’ve ever photographed someone in front of a bright light source like a window or sunrise/sunset and that someone came out as a silhouette you can use the flash to reduce the contrast of the scene that your photographing. When you use the flash to reduce the contrast you can see both the person and the bright light source behind them.

The pop up flash on your camera is a source of light you should learn to use because, beyond helping you to make better pictures, it will help you to have a better understanding of light.

When you have a better understanding of light, you become a better photographer.

You can begin to learn to use  flash effectively during the Introduction To Photography class.
