I’m surprised that many photographers I meet don’t consider themselves to be photographers.
Many photographers seem to think that being a photographer is based on a certain level of skill or type of camera used.
It ain’t.
If we see something and get an impulse to make a picture of what we’re seeing and then are skillful enough take out a camera (even the camera on our phone) and use the camera to make a picture, we’re photographers.
Skill and camera ain’t relevant to being a photographer.
Skill and camera are only relevant in terms of the photographer we wish to be.
