Driving is a skill that can be learned.
A specific car is something we can become familiar with and then apply our driving skills to operate it.
Although the vehicle that we apply our driving skills to may change, once we figure out where the headlights are, windshield wipers etc. are, our driving skills allow us to get where we are going.
Once we have the skill, any car will do.
The same goes for our skill as photographers and whatever cameras we use.
