Introduction To Photography – What, How, and Why.

Introduction To Photography – What, How, and Why.

There’s what we do, how we do and why we do.

As photographers, what we do is create photographs, how we do is based on the camera we use and our understanding of camera operation and photography, why we do is our individual intent in the creation of the photograph.

The why drives the what and how.

The why is our motivation for making the picture.

The why is our the intent of the outcome of our composition.

What we do with our camera how we do with our camera should, as much as possible considering the limitations of the camera we’re working with and our understanding of camera operation and photography, support the why we make the photograph.

  1. Hi Sam
I want to thank you for all the very helpful advise you are posting.
As an amateur photographer I would like to know how to copyright my photos before doing any posting of them.
Also, I have a few photos with dates on them. Is there a way to erase them?
All mentioned photos are in my personal laptop.

Thanks for any and all advise!

    1. Hi Martha,

If ya wanna delete the pictures, just delte ’em. I’m not sure about how to erase the dates on the pictures. I would think the only way to do it is in editing software such as LightRoom or Photoshop.

In terms of copyright registration, I’m glad that you’ve taken an interest in copyright and that you’re interested in registering your work. There are number of ways to do that. Check out the copyright office website for the most up to date information.

Ill be also be making a series of video tutorials and copyright will be one of the issues covered.

If you’d like to be kept up to date on the my video tutorials, please get on my e-mail list as soon as possible. I’ll be sending out a notice to the subscribers on the list about video tutorials very soon.

Here’s the link to get on my email list.
