If you decide to become a professional photographer, especially an independent (freelance) professional photographer you’ve got to understand the risks involved in the area of professional photography that you choose to work in.

Photographers who are beginning their careers feel that they must work for low pay or no pay to prove themselves. As photographers we prove ourselves with our work. The only thing we prove by working for little or no pay is that we will work for little or no pay.

Facebook’s terms of use are still unreasonably greedy and as such I’m careful about what I’m willing to post there.

Social networking sites like TwitPic have a lot of potential for individual photographers to license their work. This case is important because if it goes for AFP we lose. If it goes for Morel it restates that as the owners of our work we must grant permission to use it.

You know the sad thing is that, at least in photography, there are plenty of photographers who cave in to this crap.
