If we are working our camera in manual exposure mode…
Why do we change our aperture?
Why do we change our shutter speed?
What about our ISO or white balance setting?
What about our metering pattern?
Our focusing mode?
All of these considerations have an effect on the composition of our picture. If we are changing these things and not making a visual connection with the change, we’ve lost our connection with the composition of our photograph.
Working in manual mode exposure and keeping the visual connection associated with any change in our camera settings in mind allows us to visualize our photograph before we create it. Visualizing our photograph before we make the exposure is very important to the creative process.
