What Matters More Than Metering And Exposure?

Imagine that you’re looking through the viewfinder of your camera.

You’ve framed the content of your photograph perfectly,  you’ve put a lot of effort and thought into the composition of this photograph.

Your subject is just where it should be, the light is perfect, this picture is going to be AMAZING!!

You press the shutter release to make your exposure when everything is just perfect and…

The picture is too dark (underexposed) or the picture is too bright (overexposed)

When it comes to capturing your photograph, all your efforts and attention to detail are worthless if your exposure is off.

If your picture is too bright (overexposed) or too dark (underexposed) your picture is diminished because you can’t see what’s important to you in your photograph.

It all comes down to metering and exposure.

Using your camera meter correctly and getting the right exposure are some of the most important things you do as a photographer.
